The Belarusian handball players have lost their first match of the 2017 World Championship in France against Chile 28:32 (14:14). The match took place at Rouen on January 13.
Head coach Yury Shevtsov's Belarus were the favorites. However, in the first half the teams did not reveal the winner, while in the second period, the Belarusian team did not manage to organize their attack properly. Chileans had a better ending of the match and in the end they even managed to go in front and pulled out a victory.
By the way, this is their first ever victory in the group stage of world championships.
Group C also brings together Germany, Hungary, Croatia and Saudi Arabia.
To enter the last 16, Belarusians need to get into the top four.
On Sunday, Belarus plays against the Saudi team.
