Sergey Rachkov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Sudan:
Three years ago, the nomenclature of export of Belarusian goods included about 40 items. Now there are 90 items. We are increasing exports of complicated technical products. Such as optics, instrumentation and machine tools. We have also started supplying woodworking products. For the first time this year we have shipped potash to that market. Yes, we do sell tractors, we sell trucks. We began selling cranes and machines. It is said in other post-Soviet countries machine tool technology has died, but definitely not in Belarus since we have decided to keep it.

Investor Khaled Mahmoud is a millionaire. He is engaged is various projects involving cars from Bentley to Ferarri. And also tractors Belarus. His father started that business and now the son continues it.

Khaled Mahmoud, businessman (Egypt):
I am glad that we now have such a project. Egypt should also be proud of it. Our President announced a state project for agricultural machinery purchases, so this assembly facility will have a great success here. And Egypt is also the gateway to the whole of Africa, so there is great potential to supply not only to the domestic market but also to neighboring countries. The stated capacity - 2,000 tractors a year - is an intermediate number. Our dream is five thousand vehicles annually.

Osama Abu Zina, farmer (Egypt):
This is a real joy for us today, because we have long wanted some more powerful models. We have long known Belarus tractors, 130 hp. They are new for the Egyptian market. Previously, the maximum capacity was 90 hp, but now we can expand our capabilities. We have a lot of work to do, so let's work!

Mustafa Abu Zina, farmer (Egypt):
The tractor Belarus has everything a farmer needs to plow a land. You can handle anything that grows on the ground with its help.

In October, the Belarusian Trade House was opened in Egypt. The company MTZ has increased its capacity by 10 times. Earlier it produced only 200 tractors.

Fyodor Domotenko, Director General of OAO Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark):
For them it is very important that we create jobs. Here we already have 12 workers. We've fully equipped the company with management staff. And today we are looking for servicing specialists. Using the potential of our partners we are expanding the service center, so farmers will not have problems with the repair of tractors. We expect to export from here at least 30% in the future.
