Belarus' business contributes to new draft Customs Code

Belarus has been actively discussing the draft Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Ideas were offered by business associations, as well as the scientific community. The new code will be agreed by December 26 - the day when the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council of the EEU will convene in St. Petersburg.

The draft international instrument will reflect the fundamental requirements for foreign trade activities on the territory of the five EEU states.

Yuri Senko, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
We are confident that all the proposals that were made by businesses were reflected in the new draft code. Innovative ideas were included in the draft of the Customs Committee. We shared them with our partners in the Customs Union. Our partners agreed and gave their approval to turn these ideas into a new draft Customs Code.

Last week, the Belarusian head of state, at a meeting on the draft Customs Code, set a clear goal to ensure that the national interests of Belarus in the new document are respected.
