Belarus President awards Rio Olympics medalists

On the eve of New Year holidays, Belarusian athletes have received deserved honors. They will be awarded state awards in a ceremony for successful performance at the European Games in Baku, the Rio Olympics and the Paralympic Games.

Among other awardees will be those who have made a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sport. The corresponding decree was signed by President Alexander Lukashenko.

The list includes more than 20 people. Among them are swimmer Igor Boki - 6-time Paralympic gold medalist, trampoline jumper Vladislav Goncharov, who took gold in Rio. They both received the Order of Fatherland III Degree. 

Olympians Alexandra Herasimenia for bronze in swimming and Daria Naumova for second place in weightlifting will get the Orders of Honor. 

Medals For Labor Merits went to coaches of parasport and shooting national teams.
