Minsk ready to host talks on new European security architecture

The official Minsk calls on the leaders of Russia, US, EU and China to hold a frank discussion about the causes of the crisis in international relations.

Belarus' foreign minister Vladimir Makei proposed this initiative on December 8 at the meeting of the council of the foreign ministers of OSCE members in Hamburg.

More than 40 years ago, it was the Helsinki process that contributed to the detente in relations between the West and the East.

The current state of affairs in the world carries prospects of a new Cold War.

European security architecture should be built anew.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
With this knowledge, the President of Belarus proposed the idea of a new peace process similar to Helsinki. It is important to initiate a reflection on the new rules of the emerging multipolarity with absolute respect for each other's interests. If necessary, we need to involve the international expert community in this process.

Belarus is ready to organize the relevant meeting in Minsk.
