Surprising bronze for Belarusian in individual race at IBU World Cup 2016/17

Belarusian Daria Yurkevich was the only one of a hundred participants of the race who did not miss a target in four firing ranges at the IBU World Cup's women's individual 15km race.

On November 30, the Belarusian biathlete Darya sensationally won third place in the race. The first phase of the IBU World Cup is underway in Ostersund, Sweden. The Belarusian, though, was not fast, with only 58th place in terms of speed.

Thanks to the best speed, it was German Laura Dahlmeier who won the race, leaving French Anaïs Bescond second.

Other Belarusian biathletes (Irina Krivko, Nadezhda Skardino, Anastasia Kinunen and Kristina Ilchenko) did not perform well, taking places from 43rd to 85th. They missed 30 times in total.
