Belarus and Azerbaijan have agreed to reach a turnover of $700 million in 2017.
Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev agreed that the cooperation between the two countries has a lot of untapped reserves. One of the steps in this development is the creation in Minsk and Baku of national trading houses. Belarus intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the field of petrochemistry and cotton processing.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
In agriculture, we are ready to work on a project aiming at not just supply and mutual exchanges, but at the turnkey implementation of agricultural enterprises. We are ready to build here the most advanced enterprises, so that our colleagues in Azerbaijan can see firsthand what these enterprises are, and perhaps this experience will be useful for Azerbaijan. We are ready to ensure that Azerbaijan more widely presents its products in the Belarusian market. And not only in Belarus. After all, we are the center of Europe. We are ready to assist Azerbaijan in trade in goods, both in Europe and in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Following the talks, the presidents signed a joint statement. Today Alexander Lukashenko continues his official visit to Azerbaijan.
