South Sinai signs cooperation memorandum with Minsk region

The Minsk region has reached an agreement on cooperation with one of the largest and most developed regions of Egypt. The sides signed a memorandum on mutually beneficial relations in the socio-cultural and trade-economic spheres. This is the first visit of the South Sinai delegation to Belarus.

Over the first 9 months of 2016, the turnover of Minsk with Egypt amounted to approximately $2.5 million.

Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the main directions of Belarusian tour operators. Belarus supplies potash fertilizers to the Sinai Peninsula. Belarusian producers are going to further increase exports to Africa.

Khaled Fouda Sedike, South Sinai Governor:
I've heard a lot about Belarus. I know that your country is famous for developed industry, agriculture. Your country is very beautiful. As we drove from the airport, I noticed vast agricultural lands. I think we will find a common approach, not only in agriculture but also in other industries.
