EU Political and Security Committee delegation arrives in Belarus

A delegation of the Political and Security Committee of the EU Council is now in Belarus on a visit.

There has been scheduled a number of official meetings. The sides will focus on the state and prospects of relations between Belarus and the EU.

The Political and Security Committee consists of the ambassadors of the EU countries who work in Brussels. This is a permanent structure of the European Union Council. The committee's task is to monitor the international situation in the political and security spheres. The structure plays a key role in the political dialogue with the EU.

On November 21, the delegation met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Belarus is increasingly seen as a pole of stability in the region, said the Belarusian head of state.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus cannot be put before the choice between East and West. Belarus' foreign policy is consistent and predictable.
