Belarus President says meeting with Erdogan was 'very positive'

Visiting the Mogilevkhimvolokno company on November 14, Alexander Lukashenko talked to the labor collective of the enterprise. One of the questions was about the prospects of the Belarus-Turkey economic cooperation.

The head of state shared the results of the recent talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
He asked me to come to him in the spring. And he said there would be specific questions - duties and so on. Although the governments started to work in this regard. You can see that they are very positive towards us, they brought 250 businessmen here, so please just make arrangements! So it was a very good, positive meeting. The president of Turkey said to me one on one: "I have never had such visits to any country." Two huge aircraft landed here, in Belarus, with lots of businessmen with whom we could negotiate. And I am sure that heads of our firms and companies, private and public, have been able to agree on some deals.
They are interested in the fact that we place our production facilities there, for example to produce grain and forage harvesters. Well, we will do that. Road construction machinery? Fine. They make their own tractors, but ours are better tractors, they are afraid of them, because they cannot compete. Nevertheless, we have also identified ways of promotion of our tractor plant there. BelAZ has to go back to Turkey. All we have opened the gate for you to work in that market.
