Minsk and Beijing discuss bilateral economic cooperation.
On November 5, in Riga, Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov met with Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang.
The parties discussed the cooperation in agricultural, industrial and financial sectors and the implementation of large projects. For instance, the China-Belarus Industrial Park can become a pearl of the Silk Road. The majority of the countries participated in the summit are interested in a logistic potential of Belarus.
Belarus participated in the summit for the first time.
Participants of the summit discussed the cooperation of countries in spheres of investments, transportation, finance, science, education and culture.
Andrei Kobyakov thanked Li Keqiang for the invitation to the summit and invited the Premier to visit Belarus.
Thanks to the visit of Alexander Lukashenko to China in September 2016, trustworthy strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation was established between the countries. The Head of State put forward an initiative to hold annual meetings of the Heads of Government of Belarus and China, which will help to determine directions of economic cooperation.
