Belarus, Kyrgyzstan resume assembly of tractors

Belarus and Kyrgyzstan have resumed the assembly of tractors in Bishkek. An opening ceremony was held on November 3 production with the participation of the Prime Minister of Belarus.

The assembly facility will produce up to 5,000 tractors per year. The sides plan to sell the vehicles not only in Kyrgyzstan.

The possibility of exporting machinery to China and Turkmenistan is being worked out.

Delivering tractor kits to the assembly plant in Kyrgyzstan the MTZ plans to use customs regime called "free warehouse".

It allows selling the final product to the customer without VAT.

Andrei Kobyakov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
We are here to stay. This assembly line's annual capacity is 500 tractors but the director corrected me saying that up to 5,000 can be manufactured.

We will only be happy, because we can offer the market a very serious line of tractors.

The Government of Belarus will support this assembly line.

We are very interested in the fact that our center is located here in Kyrgyzstan,

since it will produce tractors and machinery and provide servicing. We are looking forward to cooperation with you and hope that you will succeed in terms of production.

On November 3 Bishkek is hosting a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Belarus is represented here as an observer.
