Belarus buys Azerbaijani oil to compensate for cut in Russian supplies

Mozyr Oil Refinery is going to begin processing a batch of Azerbaijani oil. The first batch has recently arrived at the company.

Rail tank cars contain nearly 85,000 tons of raw material. The cargo was initially shipped through Odessa port.

By the way, this is not the first time Belarus has used a tanker to purchase oil. In 2010 and 2011, Belarus bought almost 1.5 million tons of Venezuelan and Azerbaijani oil, which was shipped through the oil terminal of the Odessa port.

This time Belarus bought the raw materials for securing enough oil for its refineries, which need constant processing.

The Mozyr refinery had to diversify oil deliveries after Russia cut oil supplies.
