Deputy Prime Minister of Poland to arrive in Belarus October 24

Minsk and Warsaw are expanding trade connections. On October 24 Belarus will welcome Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki. He will hold talks with the leadership of Belarus as well as take part in the meeting of the joint commission for economic cooperation.

It is expected that the high-ranking guest will visit the annual Belarusian-Polish economic forum Neighbourhood. It will open on October 24 at the National Library and will gather several hundred representatives of leading companies of the two countries.

Poland is one of the main trade and economic partners of Belarus in Europe. However, in the last two years, there has been a slight decline in the bilateral trade. While traditionally trade amounted to about three billion dollars, last year, the parties posted a trade of less than $2bn. However, the partners intend to make up for lost profits. It is expected that both the mutual import and export of the countries will grow in 2016.
