Pinsk border guards get equipment worth over 2.5 million euro

ATVs, swamp buggies, boats and motor boats worth more than 2.5 million euros were given to Pinsk border guards in Belarus. The new items will be used for the protection of Belarus' borders.

The machinery and equipment was given to Belarusian border guards in the framework of the international project, which is funded by the European Union. Thanks to its implementation, infrastructure on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border area has already been modernized.

Overall, the project is beneficial to all parties, taking into account the issue of national security in the context of the migration situation in the world.

Leonid Maltsev, Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus:
We ensure the safety of not only our border but the borders of the European Union, we do not let illegal migrants, weapons, ammunition, and so on get into the EU. So we can talk about the mutual interest of the European Union and Belarus in the strengthening of our borders.
