Results of Belarus’ President’s state visit to China: “Belarus is among four close friends”

On October 1, the results for the economy after the state visit of Alexander Lukashenko to China were announced. About $11 billion is the sum of the contracts that will be implemented.

All the documents signed in Beijing are falling into four categories. The documents are related to political, investment, trade and humanitarian spheres.

Nikolai Maksimov, political scientist:
What do trustworthy relations mean? It means that China considers Belarus as its reliable partner.

Oleg Yefremov, political scientist:
To cooperate with such a great state as China is a very important step for Belarus.

China and Belarus are not just partners but also they are friends. Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping met for the second time in 2016. Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko has visited China for the ninth time. Two countries have maintained good relations for 25 years. The goods turnover is rising and the relations are getting stronger.

About 30 documents and a declaration were signed during the state visit.

In addition, now it is clear that Belarus is among four close friends of China.

China is a leader of the world’s economy. No surprise, that China was the country that wanted to create the Silk Road. The China-Belarus Industrial Park will become the European platform.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
There’s a high competition in the world, especially on the sphere of economy. China made a right decision. China chose the direction of the Silk Road, and now, the states that are crossed by the Silk Road become friends with China, because China invests billions of dollars in the economies of the states. We need to build a showpiece technological complex in the center of Europe for other European countries to see the benefits of cooperating with China.

In addition, China opens its markets for Belarusian beef and dairy products. There are a lot of potential contracts with China that are worth 11 billion dollars.

Kiryl Rudy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the People's Republic of China:
Why was this visit special? Because everybody saw how good the relations between two leaders are. This only helps the politics.

These relations should be constantly developing. Belarus and China share a mutual interest.
