Belarus' President: China is one of the pillars of multipolarity and stability in the world

China is one of the pillars of multipolarity and stability in the world, said Belarus' President September 30 speaking with students of Peking University.

Alexander Lukashenko raised the topic of the situation in the world. The President noted that international politics today is characterized by strong competition of states in all spheres of life: economic, scientific and cultural.

In addition, this morning the head of state met with the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. Alexander Lukashenko noted that has watched China's development experience for the past 25 years.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
I came here for the first time before I became President, as an ordinary MP, in order to get acquainted with the beginning of the reforms in your country. In my life, this is a good episode. Once I was laughed at in the parliament, when I suggested transferring the experience of China to Belarus. After the collapse of the Soviet Union. I did not want to destroy the existing system, I wanted to save the party and the state system, not to deviate from the economic planning. I cited the example of China. But at that time we had too many liberals who have chosen the Western path of development. And in the parliament, they did not support me. But I nevertheless continued to come to you, I have been not only to cities, I've been in your free economic zones, studied the functioning of free economic zones. I even visited villages, your families, rural families. So I know very well the general direction of the formation and development of this beautiful and ancient country. As a historian according to my first diploma I studied very well the history of China. And I am very well aware of China's role in the creation of modern civilization. And maybe even intuitively, before my presidency, I realized that the future of our planet belongs to China. And, as you can see, I was not mistaken.

Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China:
I am sure that your visit will give the state an additional powerful impetus to the further development of Chinese-Belarusian relations. I am ready to share with you views on the bilateral agenda and issues of mutual interest.

Also in Beijing, Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Monument to the People's Heroes.

Tiananmen Square is the symbol of the Chinese nation. It is here where the state visit of President of Belarus started. This was the ninth such visit, by the way. Today's laying of the wreath was a sign of respect. The monument was erected in memory of those who died in the XIX and XX centuries for national independence and the freedom of the Chinese people.

The state visit of Alexander Lukashenko to China has ended. The plane of the President has already taken off from Beijing Airport.
