Hundred-year-old paintings will appear on modern transport.
Two trams and a trolleybus decorated with the sketches of Kazimir Malevich and Nina Kogan will be transporting Vitebsk residents starting from September 23. The graphic art, created by the famous artists a century ago, is adapted to modern days. Beside the drawings, people will be able to see the information about the authors, their works and the history behind the creation of the paintings.
Valentina Kirilova, author of the project:
Every year, we are trying to create new projects that will help to know more about Vitebsk, about the fact that Vitebsk is a unique city and a city with unique culture. When the openings of large international exhibitions took place in New York, the whole world started to talk about the fact that modern visual culture was born in Vitebsk.
This event has become a bright brushstroke on the canvas of the European Heritage Days that take place all over the world, including Belarus. The purpose of these days is to show the art that we cannot see every day.
