Belarus defeat Serbia in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier

The Belarusian national beach soccer team has won its first game in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualification.

In the second round of the preliminary competition in Group A Belarusians defeated Serbia 8:1 (3:0, 2:0, 3:1).

In contrast to the start of the qualifying tournament, in which Belarusians unexpectedly lost to Turkey (2:3), this time the question about the winner was decided in the first period, in which Igor Brishtel made a hat-trick. All in all he scored 4 goals in this match.

On Sunday, September 4, Belarusians meet Italy who won in the first round against Serbs 8:4.

The remaining preliminary round groups:

B - Portugal, England, Romania, Moldova;

C - Russia, Germany, Norway, Kazakhstan;

D - Switzerland, Greece, the Netherlands, Lithuania;

E - Spain, Poland, Estonia, Denmark;

F - Ukraine, Czech Republic, Georgia;

G - Hungary, France, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria.

After the first round the top two teams from each group, as well as two third-placed teams will enter the second group stage. In the second phase the 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups, the winners of which will qualify for the final stage of the World Cup. Another pass will be contested by teams who will take second places.

The Finals of the World Cup will be held in April-May 2017 in the Bahamas. In addition to five European teams a further 15 teams from other continents will take part, while the Bahamas have already qualified directly as hosts.
