The football club Minsk (women) has successfully passed the qualifying round of the Women's Champions League and reached the last 32 of the tournament.
The champions of Belarus, who performed in the second qualifying group in Osijek, Croatia, won three matches conceding just one goal, with 17 goals scored.
First, the Minsk club took over main rivals Belgian Standard, 3:1 and then defeated the hosts of the tournament Osijek 5:0 and then crushed Macedonian ŽFK Dragon 2014 9:0. Final standings: Minsk - 9 points (goal difference 17-1), Standard - 4 (13-4), Osijek - 4 (15-7), Dragon - 0 (1-34).
In addition to Minsk winning their qualifying sections were another eight clubs: Apollon Ladies FC, Breidablik, KKPK Medyk Konin, FC Zürich Frauen, WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo, FC BIIK-Kazygurt, Avaldsnes IL and FC Twente. They will be joined by 23 other clubs that got a pass to the playoffs without selection.
The last 32 draw of the women's champions league takes place on September 1 and the games will be held on 5-6 and 12-13 October. The last 16 matches will be held in November 2016, the quarterfinals are scheduled for March, the semis for April and the final for 1 June 2017.
