FC BATE Borisov to host Astana in bid for Europa League group stage

FC BATE Borisov is one match from parting with European competitions this autumn. Previously, the Yellow-Blues disappointed their fans after being knocked out of the Champions League and now they are on the verge of farewell and with the Europa League.

In the first play-off match against Kazakh Astana Alexander Ermakovich's team lots 0:2 and now they have to score three times without conceding to redress the situation. BATE will be without Sergei Veremko and Alexander Hleb, who are injured after the first leg in Astana.

Alexander Ermakovich, head coach of FC BATE (Borisov):
We don't build game around one footballer. It is very important that tomorrow we are a team. It does not matter who will play a key role in any episode. Ivanic, Gvilia or Stasevich. The result is important, the high-quality game.

At the pre-match press conference Alexander Ermakovich urged not to dramatize the situation and wait for the final whistle. But he noted that in the event of a disappointing outcome he is ready to take the hit on himself.

Alexander Ermakovich, head coach of FC BATE (Borisov):
I will do in a way so that the club benefits. And believe me, I'm not going to cling on to my place if I feel that I am not needed here. We are well aware that we did not show out level in Astana. We need to show our level, we need confidence. It is necessary to act like a team. And, of course, not only the players but also all those present at the stadium should be united like one team. And we must want to win very much.
