BATE go down to Astana in Europa League playoff first leg

August 18 the Belarusian champion FC BATE held the first leg of the Europa League qualification play-off. In Astana, the Belarusian football players met with the Kazakh club Astana. 

The meeting was tough. Alexander Hleb received a cut in one of duels and was forced to leave the pitch at the end of the first half. Astana achieved the victory 2:0 as a result.

The return match will be held August 25 at Borisov Arena. BATE need to score three times without conceding a goal to progress to the Europa League group stage. BATE is the only Belarusian club in European club competitions now.
