Military units of the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO) have arrived in the Pskov region of Russia to take part in the joint military exercise Interaction 2016.
Involved in the drills are national contingents of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. All in all, about 6,000 troops and up to 1,000 military vehicles will partake.

The Republic of Belarus is represented by the operative group of the Ministry of Defence, officers that are members of the Headquarters of the Command of the Rapid Reaction Forces, as well as troops from Brigade No103. This is a unit that will be directly involved in practical actions.
The exercise will take place in three stages. During the first one, an operative meeting of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces leadership will be held. Next follows joint operation planning and practical actions of troops. They will simulate the localization of areas of an armed conflict and the destruction of illegal armed groups.
