521 people running for 110 seats in Belarus parliament

The election campaign in Belarus has entered the active phase. August 12 the Central Election Commission published the list of all registered candidates for the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of Belarus' parliament. To view them, please visit the Commission's website.

521 people will be running for 110 seats in the parliament. Not everyone was able to complete the registration. 93 applicants were denied registration. 16 people resigned from the campaign on their own. In total this year, 630 candidates were nominated for 110 deputy seats across Belarus, which is 130 more.

Thus, today we start the next stage of the campaign. During the next 30 days, candidates will be campaigning. Some have already managed to publish their programs in print media. Let me remind you that every applicant for a deputy chair has the right to place one free article. In addition, by the end of this week we will know the time of speeches of candidates on the radio on TV.
