BATE holds training session in Dublin prior to Dundalk Champions League encounter

BATE footballers have arrived in Dublin for a match of the 3rd qualification round of the Champions League against Dundalk.

The away squad includes 21 footballers:

goalkeepers - Sergey Veremko, Artem Soroko, Denis Scherbitsky;

defenders - Vitaly Gayduchik, Kaspars Dubra, Maxim Zhavnerchik, Denis Polyakov, Artur Pikk;

midfielders - Aleksandr Volodko, Valerian Gvilia, Alexander Hleb, Mirko Ivanic, Alexander Karnitsky, Yuri Kendysh, Alex Rios, Igor Stasevich, Yevgeny Yablonsky;

strikers - Mikhail Gordeychuk, Dmitry Mozolevski, Vitali Rodionov, Nikolai Signevich.

In the morning of August 1 the Belarusian squad stayed in a Dublin hotel and in the evening had a pre-match training session at Tallaght Stadium. The referee for the match is Jakob Kehlet from Denmark.

The first leg in Borisov was won by BATE 1-0, thanks to the goal by Mikhail Gordeychuk, who received a neat pass from BATE newcomer Alexander Hleb.

Opponents know each other well, because a year ago they met in the same tournament, in the 2nd qualifying round. Back then BATE won 2-1 at home and drew 0-0 on the road and made it into the third qualifying round.

The winner of the two-leg tie will secure a place in the Europa League group stage and continue to compete for the place in the Champions League group stage, while the loser will have to play another two legs to qualify for Europa League group stage.
