Belarus women's business initiatives can be supported financially. The corresponding loan agreement was signed in Minsk on July 14. Various European institutions are ready to invest about $10 million in the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
The program will help women participate more actively in the economic life of the country.
Thus Belarus has joined the large-scale project for the countries of the Eastern Partnership. Its total financial basis is estimated at $50 million.
Andrea Victorin, head of the European Union delegation to the Republic of Belarus:
I visited Belarus earlier too. And I think that women are a kind of foundation of your country. It is important to give them an opportunity to realize themselves, to take a leading position. I hope this program will be used by women not only in Minsk but also in other regions.
