Belarus plans to reduce customs clearance time

Revenues from transit in Belarus will increase to $1.5 billion. The Council of Ministers of Belarus discussed the program of development of transport capacity in 2016-2020.

The volume of logistics services are expected to grow by 1.5 times and there will be much more warehouse space.

The state will invest minimum funds. The main burden will be shouldered by investors. Electronic document flow will be developing in Belarus, too. There will be made some changes to legislation. To increase the volumes, it is necessary, among other things, to reduce waiting time at the border.

Anatoly Sivak, Transport and Communications Minister of Belarus:
In 2015, transit cargo handling in Belarusian logistics centers increased by 42%. In rail transport there is also significant growth: by 1.8-2 times. This is transportation of goods between China and Europe. Roughly, this is two trains per day. Four years ago, there was one train per week.
