Man in Belarus falls into fire celebrating Kupala night

35-year-old Belarusian man was jumping over the fire celebrating Kupalle (akin to Midsummer night in the rest of the world) and fell into the blaze.

The accident took place on July 6 at about 23.00, near a reservoir in the Petrovichi village, Smolevichi district.

The press service of the Minsk Regional Emergencies Department: 
We sent an ambulance brigade and an operative group of the regional Emergency Situations Ministry unit. According to preliminary reports, the 35-year-old man - a resident of the village Zarechye - was jumping over the fire and fell into it, which resulted in thermal burns of hands, feet, and breast (1,2,3 degree), which affected about 80% of the body. He has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
