Sasnovich goes down to Annika Beck in Wimbledon round 2

The Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich did not make it into the ladies' singles third round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

In the second round match Alexandra Sasnovich, WTA No.98, lost to WTA No.43 German Annika Beck and lost in two games, 2:6, 1:6. In the opening match, Alexandra Sasnovich defeated French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic (33), 6:3, 6:3.

Another Belarusian Olga Govortsova (113) lost in round 1 to the Spanish player Lara Arruabarrena (87), 2:6, 6:1, 6:8. The best Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka, ranked 6th, does not play in Wimbledon due to a knee injury.

In the first match of the gentlemen's doubles, Max Mirnyi and Filipino Treat Huey, seeded 12th, beat Spanish duo Pablo Carreno-Busta / Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, 6:3, 7:6 (7:5). Then the Belarusian-Filipino tandem defeated the Brazilian-Pakistani pair Marcelo Demoliner / Aisam Qureshi 6:4, 6:7 (7:9), 6:3. In round three, they will face either O. Marach / F. Martin or N. Skupski / K. Skupski.
