On June 30, the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic held talks at the Foreign Ministry of Belarus meeting with Belarus foreign minister Vladimir Makei.
This is the first visit to Belarus of an official of such a rank in the last 7 years. Economy is the most important area of the Belarus-Czech Republic bilateral relations.
Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
Foreign policy departments are already working on plans for future joint investment projects worth over 500 million euros. It is very important that, in the new geopolitical reality, our colleagues from the European Union and, above all, the Czech Republic see Belarus as an open and reliable partner and are ready for a joint search for new forms of cooperation.
Lubomír Zaorálek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic:
Our meeting is a good confirmation of the beginning of a new chapter in the relations between Belarus and the Czech Republic. This opportunity to open a new chapter in our relations is caused by the fact that relations between Belarus and the European Union are improving.
