Alexandra Sasnovich qualifies for second round of Wimbledon

The Belarusian tennis player Alexandra Sasnovich has qualified for the second round of Wimbledon, which is the third season of the Grand Slam series.

Alexandra Sasnovich (98th world ranking number) won against France's Kristina Mladenovic (33). On June 30, the athletes met on the court after the rain postponed the match on Wednesday. The Belarusian won 6:3, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 10 minutes.

Alexandra's next opponent will be the winner of the match between Heather Watson (55) and German Annika Beck (43). If Sasnovich wins then she may face Serena Williams in round 3 if the American wins against Christina McHale (65).

Another Belarusian Olga Govortsova (113) lost in round 1 to the Spanish player Lara Arruabarrena (87), 2:6, 6:1, 6:8. The best Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka, ranked 6th, does not play in Wimbledon due to a knee injury.
