Belarus resumes Priorix vaccines despite one vaccinee's death

Belarus has resumed the use of Priorix vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella. It has been used since 2014 and its purchases are pre-planned. The Belgian vaccine passed quality control in June 2016 and meets all requirements according to test results.

In May, immediately after vaccination, a six-year girl died on her mother's hands in a Grodno clinic. Doctors fought for the life of the child about 40 minutes but in vain.

Investigators seized vials of vaccines and medicines from the vaccination office and appointed a number of examinations. During the proceedings, the Ministry of Health suspended the use of the vaccine in the country.
