The sad news became known on June 26. The Belarusian actor Rostislav Yankovsky has passed away aged 86. The President of Belarus expressed condolences to the families and friends of the actor, who bore the honorable titles of the People's Artist of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic and the People's Artist of the USSR.
Almost for 60 years Rostislav Yankovsky served the stage of the Russian Drama Theater named after M. Gorky. He played more than 160 roles, embodying unforgettable images in classic, modern and foreign repertoire. Having debuted in 1958, Rostislav Yankovsky starred in 60 movies and has created unforgettable images.

A farewell ceremony for Rostislav Yankovsky will be held at the big stage of Gorky theater June 28. The actor was widely known not only among colleagues. The actor is an honorary citizen of Minsk, winner of dozens of prestigious prizes and awards.
