Belarus may optimize state apparatus

Belarus retains the social policy course in the coming years. It should be based on an addressed basis. Marianna Shchetkina, Minister of Labor and Social Security, reported on the main priorities of this sector from the rostrum of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. For example we 25,000 children face parental divorce each year.

Another question was the optimization of the state apparatus.

Marianna Shchetkina, delegate of the fifth All-Belarusian Assembly, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus:
Today we propose to amend the Labour Code: to remove the ban on work during holidays and weekends for working women with children under the age of three. If another member of the family can take care of a child, then the woman cannot be limited in her right to realize her professional interests. In our opinion, with her consent, she can at this time to improve skills, undergo internships, work on public holidays (because they are paid at a double rate). Yesterday Mr Lukashenko said it is necessary to carry out optimization of the state apparatus by 1.5-2 times. The main thing is that we don't start cutting jobs from tomorrow. Without reviewing functions the optimization will not bring any use.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
Well, I don't insist on some artificial downsizing of the state apparatus. It is not expensive. The question is in executive discipline. Here in the country some say there is dictatorship, dictatorship, dictatorship... But in a country with dictatorship no one has to repeat anything. But in Belarus one sometimes needs to repeat five times. Is it dictatorship? So let's go back to the normal dictatorship, when a chief tells his subordinate something one time and forgets about it. Like the military: an ultramodern accurate weapon. The pilot presses the button and the rocket flies in the necessary direction.  Therefore, through the reduction of the state apparatus, I put the question of strengthening performing discipline. This is the most important thing. With fewer bosses and bureaucrats it will take less time to abide by decisions. No one will dissuade me from it.
