Belarus-Russia Union State to benefit from Minsk's new military doctrine

The new military doctrine of Belarus will become part of a similar document of the Belarus-Russia Union State, said the House of Representatives June 16.

The deputies of the lower house of Belarus Parliament in the second reading passed a bill on the approval of the Military Doctrine.

The document entered the House of Representatives February 12, 2016 after it had been approved by the President of Belarus on the basis of a Security Council session.

Alexander Mezhuyev, member of the standing commission for national security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
This bill is timely and relevant, because it takes into account all the features of changes in the military-political situation in the region and at the international level. I also want to remind you that the adoption of the new military doctrine is a purely defensive step. This defensive doctrine takes into account all the new challenges and threats to our country from abroad.
