Belarus and Russia should work together to increase the competitiveness of their economies, said Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov.
The diplomat also stressed that to this end, the countries need to move from simple cooperation to establishment of joint ventures.
This would allow strengthening the EEU space and go to the markets of third countries.
Alexander Surikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus:
We have not exhausted the potential of that cooperative integration, so it is necessary to continue further to establish joint ventures and assembly plants. We could increase the production of parts, components and so on. We do need to do this. Integration processes are attracting increasing attention. That is, we need to switch from simply cooperation to the creation of a single "fist", a single joint venture, which is stronger. It will be stronger financially and economically than those cooperative units consisting of several companies
