Belarus gets first win in 2016 CEV European League

The men's and women's national volleyball teams of Belarus have pulled off first victories in the third round of the CTV European League.

The men's team led by Alexander Singayevsky after defeats in Group B against Estonia (1:3) and Austria (1:3) beat Luxembourg 3:0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:20). Tournament 2 of the European League will take place in Estonia June 18-20.

Taking part in the men's Final 4 will be Bulgaria (hosts), winners of groups A and B, as well as the best runner-up in one of the groups. The Final 4 will be held in Varna, Bulgaria, July 1-2.

Group B standings: 1. Estonia - 9 points (3 games), 2. Austria - 6 (3), 3. Belarus - 3 (3), 4. Luxembourg - 0 (3).

In the women's Euroleague Belarus lost in Group A to Slovakia (1:3) and Poland (2:3) but then managed to get a hard victory against Albania, 3:2 (17:25, 22:25, 25:11, 25:23, 15:10). 

Group A standings: 1. Slovakia - 8 points (3 games), 2. Poland - 6 (3), 3. Belarus - 3 (3). 4. Albania - 1 (3).
