15 Russian regions intend to sign cooperation agreements with the Belarusian side at the 3rd Forum of Belarusian and Russian regions. It will take place in Minsk on 7 and 8 June.
The central theme of the big talk this time will be social and humanitarian cooperation in the Belarus-Russia Union State. Sections in nine directions will be working during the forum. As part of the forum, there will also take place the third meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission on inter-regional co-operation between the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Russian Federation Council of the Federal Assembly.
Igor Chernyshyov, Deputy Chairman of the Social Policy Committee of the Council of the Federation:
We perceive this forum as one of the ways to make sure we are on the same page in social policy. We would like to look at the social management system. And also discuss health care, education, culture, sport, and youth policy. All the time are we in a state of reforms in the social sphere. Belarus is more static in this matter, but nevertheless we see that the citizens' satisfaction with social services is higher in Belarus than in Russia.
