Slavic Bazaar 2016: Surprises, tickets and hotels for stars

Expectations concerning the Slavonic Bazaar international arts festival are already huge. In 2016, this cultural forum in Belarus’ Vitebsk celebrates the 25th anniversary. Colorful posters attract audience to concerts, hotels are preparing to meet stars and organizers of the Bazaar are gradually revealing more and more secrets.

Room number 600, like Mercedes-Benz 600, is only for luxury clients. Over the years, Lara Fabian, Sarah Connor and Toto Cutugno stayed in this apartment.

Free concerts in this hotel are only for residents and staff. But without tickets you will not be able to get to the festival. However, some concerts have already proven to be sellouts.

Vera Golidova, cashier of the ticket office:
What are the most popular concerts?  Golden Hit concert is one of sellouts. We still have some tickets for the opening and closing ceremony but the central seats have been sold.

Lots of guests are going to come to the concert. They will come from all over the world. For example, tickets were purchased through the Internet even from Japan and Cyprus. There will be at least 5,000 direct festival participants. And this is a record.

Svetlana Avdeeva, head of international cooperation directorate of the Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk:
We have tried to invite people from all over the world, from Latin America to Eurasia. Colombia and Argentina will take part in the festival for the first time this year.

Anastasia But, CTV:
Forum organizers are even going to get to the Guinness Book of Records. A marathon of poets will be held near the Pushkin monument. Hundreds of people will be reading poems without interruption for at least 10 hours.

It is not known whether the festival will get a cinema program this time but organizers do not refuse from new projects. For example, on the night from 18 to 19 July, the Vitebsk Dance Night will be held near the summer amphitheater.

Alexander Sidorenko, director of the International Arts Festival "Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk":
A youth platform will be organized in Vitebsk near the main site of the event, with major DJs taking part. Among them will be Ruslan Nigmatullin (former Russian football goalkeeper), Pierre Sarkozy and others from the United States, Germany, Italy and Russia.

Slavonic Bazaar officially starts in Vitebsk on July 14, in about 45 days.
