Days of Belarusian Culture in Paris: Two Our Lady icons in focus

The spiritual heritage of Belarus was shown and discussed in France. Paris hosted a number of meetings within the framework of the Belarusian Culture Days focusing on two Belarusian Christian shrines - the Zhirovichi and Budslav Mother of God icons.

It is noteworthy that these icons relate to different branches of Christianity (Catholic and Orthodox), but are equally revered by both faiths in Belarus.

These meetings were held with the support of the cultural center of Belarus in France and Belarus' diplomatic mission in that country.

Welcoming the participants, Belarusian Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko noted that Belarus has historically been a model of mutual respect of different nationalities and faiths.

Both icons have been donated to the Orthodox Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs in Paris.
