EgyptAir aircraft crash was a terrorist act, Russian Federal Security Service says

Speaking at the Council of Heads of CIS special services in Minsk Director of the Russian Federal Security Service said that the disaster with the Egyptian A320 was an act of terrorism.

Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service: 
There was an accident with the EgyptAir plane. Apparently, this is a terrorist attack, which killed 66 citizens of more than 12 different countries.

The aircraft was flying from Paris to Cairo and disappeared from radars early in the morning. On board were 66 people: citizens of 12 countries. There were no Belarusians among them. 

Before the disappearance the airliner made an unexpected sharp turn 90 degrees to the left and then 360 ​​degrees to the right. It is assumed that the tragedy probably occurred near the Greek island of Karpathos.

A footage showing the fall of the Egyptian plane appeared in the media. The footage shows a flash of light, about which witnesses mentioned. However, it is still impossible to verify the authenticity of the video.

The President of Belarus, on behalf of the people and himself, expressed his condolences to the heads of Egypt and France, the families and friends of those killed in the aircraft crash.
