Belarus to take on Ireland, Northern Ireland in May FIFA friendlies

Head coach of the national team of Belarus Alexander Khatskevich has named the players who will be preparing for the friendly matches against Northern Ireland (27 May) and Ireland (31 May), the Association Belarusian Football Federation reports.

22 players have been called up for the training camp, which will begin in Minsk on May 23:

Goalkeepers - Andrei Gorbunov ( Atromitos, Athens, Greece), Sergey Chernik (BATE Borisov), Andrei Klimovich (Minsk);

defenders - Denis Polyakov and Maksim Volodko (both BATE Borisov), Igor Shitov (Mordovia, Saransk, Russia), Alexander Martynovich (Ural, Ekaterinburg, Russia), Sergey Politevich (Genclerbirligi, Ankara, Turkey), Roman Begunov (Dinamo Minsk), Yegor Filipenko (Malaga, Spain), Mikhail Sivakov (Zarya, Lugansk, Ukraine);

midfielders - Sergei Kislyak (Rubin, Kazan, Russia), Stanislav Dragun (Dinamo, Moscow, Russia), Igor Stasevich and Mikhail Gordeychuk (BATE Borisov), Pavel Nekhaychik (Tom, Tomsk, Russia), Alexander Hleb (Genclerbirligi, Ankara, Turkey), Sergei Krivets (Metz, France), Sergey Balanovich (Amkar, Perm, Russia), Ivan Mayevsky (Anzhi Makhachkala, Russia);

forwards - Sergei Kornilenko (Krylya Sovetov, Samara, Russia), Nikolay Yanush (Shahktyor, Soligorsk).

The team will train at the complex of football fields in Vesnyanka and flies to Northern Ireland May 26. The friendly match again the Northern Ireland will take place in Belfast at Windsor Park on 27 May. 

The next day, the team of Belarus goes to Ireland, where it holds the second sparring on May 31. The match against the Irish will be held in Cork at Turners Cross. 

Both opponents of the Belarusian players will take part in Euro 2016, which will be held in France from June 10 to July 10.
