The Belarusian President shared his expectations regarding the performance of the national athletics team at the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
As far as our athletes are concerned, we will look at their readiness and carry out the necessary activities prior to the Games. As President of the National Olympic Committee I am obliged to carry out this review and I will. With great caution am I now waiting for the Olympic Games. It will be very difficult. It is very difficult to compete with those who have learned how to cheat during doping tests. So now sport is no more a transparent and pure activity we would like to see. It long ago became politics or some part of medicine or pharmacy.
