The CTV Channel took part in the voluntary working day, called subbotnik in Belarus and some other former Soviet Union nations. TV presenters, reporters and cameramen that day ditched microphones and cameras and took shovels and other tools to tidy up Minsk.
Those who usually make news made their contribution to the main news of the day - the subbotnik general beautification campaign. In Minsk, the CTV staff worked on land adjacent to the office and the nearby Marat Kazei Park.
Valery Naumenko, cameraman of the TV company Stolichnoye Televidenie:
I've been working here for 15 years and taking part in such improvement campaigns for as many years. By the way, this is a very good place to see the results of the CTV's work: 10 years ago, we planted a whole grove of trees near the Minsk ring road and it has grown considerably!
Irina Martyanova, TV presenter, deputy director of the information broadcasting directorate of the TV company Stolichnoye Televidenie:
I grabbed this broom for a reason. After our new project Two Stars, where I sang with Sasha Nemo with the same brooms and wearing Minskzelenstroy uniform, I'm not afraid of anything. I already know how to handle it!
Some CTV staff went to the Stalin Line to work. TV presenters and journalists had an interesting and important task: to clean a hangar with military equipment.
Olga Burlakova, host of the TV program "Morning. Good Mood Studio":
Let's go, guys! Let's start a battle!
Natalia Mikhailik, presenter of the TV program Capital in Detail:
Physical labor ennobles man and elevates mood. This is fun, happiness and cheer!
