The current year must be crucial in overcoming the negative trends in economy, said President Alexander Lukashenko addressing the Belarusian people and the National Assembly.
The principles of economic development are first of all diversification of export, reduction of production costs by 25%, creation of 50,000 jobs and the development of agriculture. The economy must take the path of innovative development.
Products of the future are to be manufactured in the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese industrial park in Minsk region's Smolevichi district. The President says that more dynamism should be added to its construction.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
Work is actively underway to find new points of economic growth, which will give a stable dynamics of its development. First, this is the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park. This is a platform for attracting high-tech and competitive projects. The work, unfortunately, is going in a very bad way, and soon the most severe measures will be taken there, including the personnel decisions. This park must become home for enterprises "of the day after tomorrow." Businesses of yesterday and today have nothing to do on that site.
