Belarusian parliament begins new legislative season April 4

The new legislative season begins April 4 in the Belarusian parliament. During the spring session, the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives plan to consider several dozen questions.

Among the main are the new military doctrine, the codes on culture and the judicial system and the governmental program for the upcoming 5 years. Members of the lower house of parliament have started to work in the Oval Hall.

Elected officials will also continue to work in the areas of social and foreign policy. In particular, it is planned to ratify agreements in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Vitaly Busko, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on international affairs:
I would like to highlight the agreement on friendship and cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan. We now attach great importance to this region. And this agreement will further strengthen our relationship.


This session will be the final for the deputies of the current, 5th, convocation. The agenda of the session, on the first day alone includes 40 points. 

The upper chamber will also have to work hard. Today, the 11th session of the Council of the Republic will also begin its work. And all the issues in the parliamentary portfolio will of course be considered there too.

Apart from the military doctrine draft the MPs will also consider a package of documents on the protection of the environment.
