Belarusians need more safety, President Lukashenko says

Seasonal load on the western border has no effect on the quality of the work of customs and border structures. The President of Belarus heard out a report of the State Secretary of the Security Council.

The officials discussed the situation on Belarus' borders, in particular, the queues in the Lithuanian direction. It was decided to strengthen the work of the relevant crossing points.

Separately, the sides reviewed the situation on the southern border, which is causing some concern. However, as State Secretary of the Security Council Stanislav Zas assured, everything is under control.

The State Secretary also noted a decrease in the number of particularly serious crimes and thefts in Belarus. Crimes in regions outside of Minsk were discussed during a separate section of the report.

In late January, the President gave instructions to the Interior Ministry to strengthen public security in rural areas.

Control of the availability of agricultural machinery for planting is now in the spotlight. In the next few days, Belarus begins mass grain sowing.

The Emergencies Ministry has no fears about spring floods: winter this year was not abundant in snow. Alexander Lukashenko demanded to strengthen the activities of the law-enforcement agencies to ensure citizens' safety.
