Belarus manager on Armenia, Montenegro football friendlies

Without Hleb but in a good mood. On March 23 Belarus manager Alexander Khatskevich gave his first press conference in 2016 in the House of Football. It was dedicated to Belarus' friendly matches against Armenia and Montenegro, due in March.

Khatskevich told reporters on the good atmosphere in the team, as well as on the personal request of Alexander Hleb not to call him up for the training camp this time. The media also asked the manager about the construction of the national stadium. They also discussed possible candidates for the head coach position in Belarus' youth team.

One of the key topics was the lack of match practice of some Belarus' players in their clubs.

Alexander Khatskevich, head coach of the Belarusian national football team:
I have been working as Belarus manager for the second year. Not all of our players get playing time for their clubs, yes. But I am not that concerned. Why? Because they arrive for the training camp. They can get enough form for at least one game. So if a person is fielded for the national team, he does all his best. Whether these players are ready to play 60 minutes or more... The matches will show. But if you are fielded, you simply forget that you are not allowed much playing time in your club. Here, you come to play.
