Belarusian team wins Google Hash Code 2016

Belarusians Roman Udovichenko and Sergey Zhgirovsky took first place in Google Hash Code 2016 competition, reads the competition website.

Roman and Sergei played for the YMTeam team and scored 1,017,218 points. Second place went to the Russian team Ababahalamaha (991,562 points), and third to the team Die Bergbokbende from South Africa (964 632).

Both Belarusians work in the Minsk representative office of Yandex. Previously, they participated in sports programming competition, such as the ACM and Google Code Jam.

As a prize, each of them received Google products, which minimal cost is 190 euros.

Google Hash Code is a team programming competition organized by Google for students and industry professionals (18+) from Europe, Middle East and Africa. Participating in it were both students and professionals.

The qualifying round of the competition took place on February 11 and more than 17 000 people took part in it. The final was held on March 19 at the Paris office of Google.
