FC BATE on course to Belarus Cup semifinal

Novopolotsk's FC Naftan and Bobruisk's Belshina played out a 1-1 draw in the last of the first-leg quarterfinals of the Belarus Cup.

In the middle of the second half of the meeting Bobruisk newcomer Ghanaian Joel Fameyeh opened the scoring netting for the first time for the new club. Then, however, five minutes before the final whistle, Nikita Shugunkov made it 1-1.

This is the only draw in the first leg quarterfinals. Results of other Belarus Cup matches are as follows:

Dinamo (Minsk) v Torpedo-BelAZ (Zhodino) 1-0 (Begunov, 44)
FC BATE (Borisov) v Slutsk 1-0 (Volodko, 90+3)
FC Minsk v Shakhtyor (Soligorsk) - 2-0 (Kovel, 52, Sachivko, 76 (p)).

Belarus' champions BATE could not break FC Slutsk's resistance for 90 minutes but in injury time, Volodko finally broke the deadlock with a super shot from distance.

The second leg matches, which will determine the 4 semifinalists of the Belarus Cup, will be held on 6 April.
